Session three

Sustaining the Fight

September 23, 13:15-14:30

Wars are won on the home front as much as they are on the battlefield. To prevail in wartime, governments and their agencies, the private sector, NGOs and civil society must work together to generate and sustain industrial capacity, political determination and societal resilience in peacetime and crisis. This panel will explore how cooperation between these various actors can be aligned and harnessed to ensure broad-based resilience and to sustain practical and political support for military operations. It will consider how comprehensive defence policies might be enhanced to better meet these needs.
