Patrick Sensburg

Professor at the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration

Dr Patrick Sensburg is Professor of European Security Law at the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration in Cologne and has served as president of the German Armed Forces Reservist Association (2019–26). A member of the German Parliament (2009–21), he chaired the European Law Committee (2009–17), the NSA Inquiry Committee (2014–17), and subsequently the Committee for the Scrutiny of Elections, Immunity and the Rules of Procedure, and sat on the German–Romanian parliamentary friendship group. He was Professor of Public Law and European Law at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration and Management of North Rhine-Westphalia in Münster, and a visiting professor at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and the University of Vienna. He lectured in European law at RISEBA in Riga (2009–12) and was a professor and member of the Senate at the Federal University of Applied Administrative Sciences (2006–08). He is a Colonel (Retrired) and served many years in the Joint Operational Command.
