Technology and Innovation through Multilateralism

The Atlantic Alliance is transforming under the mantra of ‘a stronger Europe in a stronger NATO’. In support of this endeavour, the Nordic-Baltic countries place high priority on developing a regional defence-tech sector that is responsive to emerging security challenges. Their efforts also involve partners such as the US, the UK, France, Germany, and Canada and may draw upon financing from EU instruments such as the European Defence Fund to stimulate innovation.

This panel will explore the opportunities and challenges for NB8 cooperation in defence-tech innovation. It will focus on solutions powered by artificial intelligence, uncrewed and autonomous delivery, data analytics and quantum computing, and discuss how NB8 governments and industry can work together to enhance interoperability, accelerate innovation and strengthen public-private partnerships. The panel takes place in cooperation with the Horizon Europe Reignite Multilateralism via Technology (REMIT) project.
