Eoin Micheál McNamara
Postdoctoral Fellow at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs
Dr Eoin Micheál McNamara is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA). He holds a PhD in political science from the University of Tartu, where he previously taught extensively in international relations between 2013 and 2020. His main research interests include transatlantic relations, NATO, and security in northern and eastern Europe. Dr McNamara’s commentary on security and defence policy has featured in global media outlets including BBC World, The Times of London, The New York Times, The Guardian, Bloomberg, ARD Tagesschau, Le Monde, and El País. He has given expert evidence before the Irish Parliament’s Joint Committee on European Union Affairs and has briefed the Irish Defence Forces Joint Command and Staff Course.
