President of the Sejong Institute
Dr Jungsup Kim currently serves as President of the Sejong Institute, one of South Korea’s leading think tanks specialising in foreign affairs and national security. His research focuses on the US-ROK alliance, North Korea’s nuclear issues, and the geopolitics of Northeast Asia. He earned his PhD in International Relations from the University of Oxford. Before joining the Sejong Institute, Dr Kim served in various positions at the Ministry of National Defence, where he was responsible for security strategy, budget planning, and organisational affairs, and eventually retired as Deputy Minister for Planning and Coordination.
