Viktoria Hjort Malmer
Defence Policy Director at the Ministry of Defence of Sweden
Viktoria Hjort Malmer is the Defence Policy Director and Head of the Division for Security Policy at the Ministry of Defence of Sweden. Ms Hjort Malmer has previously held several positions within the Ministry of Defence, as well as at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2006-07, she worked at the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom, and in 2008, she was employed by the Swedish Armed Forces as a Political Advisor. Until recently, Ms Hjort Malmer held the position of Deputy Head of the Department for Security Policy and International Relations at the Ministry of Defence. Ms Hjort Malmer received her master’s degree in international relations and political science in 2002 from the University of Lund, Sweden. She also studied at the University of Columbia, New York, in 2000. Between 2003-04, she attended the Government Offices Trainee Programme.
