Sarah Fainberg
Head of the Great Powers Research Programme Elrom Center for Air and Space Studies
Dr Sarah Fainberg is a Senior Researcher and Head of the Great Powers Research Programme at Tel Aviv University’s Elrom Center for Air and Space Studies. Her research focuses on air and space power, contemporary warfare, and great power competition in the Middle East. She also serves as a Lecturer in the MA programme in security and diplomacy studies at Tel Aviv University. Previously, she served as a Policy and Strategic Affairs Adviser at Israel’s Ministry of Defense and as a Research Fellow in the Russia Programme at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS). She has held teaching and research appointments at Georgetown University, Columbia University, Sciences Po, and St Petersburg State University. She is a board member of ELNET and a member of Forum Dvorah, Israel's leading network of women experts in national security. She is a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure (Ulm) and holds an MA and PhD in comparative politics from Sciences Po, Paris.
