Nicholas Nelson

Nicholas Nelson is the leading investor at the forefront of European defence technology. He is the General Partner at Archangel, Europe’s first defence-first venture capital fund, where he backs breakthrough deep tech startups across Europe. Prior to this, he held senior roles in early-stage venture capital, aerospace, defence, and government, including deploying to Afghanistan. Outside of venture capital, Mr Nelson is a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford and a Senior Fellow at the Center for European Policy Analysis, where his research bridges national security, emerging tech, and private capital. He’s an elected Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, and his writing and insights have appeared in the Financial Times, the BBC, Politico, and Sifted.
