Director General for NATO and Transatlantic Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia
Martin Roger has been the Director General for NATO and Transatlantic Relations of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since August 2022. Previously, he served as Ambassador of Estonia to Poland (2018-22) and as Director for Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia (2014-18) of the Estonian MFA. His earlier tours abroad include as Deputy Chief of Mission of the Estonian Embassy in Paris and Political and Legal Officer at the Estonian Permanent Mission to the UN in New York. He has also been on a secondment to the Office of President of the UN General Assembly (2007-08), working on legal and counter-terrorism files as well to the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications as Director for European and International Cooperation. Mr Roger is a graduate of the University of Tartu Law Faculty and holds an LLM in International Law from the University of Amsterdam.
