Jörg See

Deputy Assistant Secretary-General for Defence Policy and Planning, NATO

Major General Jörg See has served as Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Defence Policy and Planning (DASG DPP) at NATO HQ since May 2019. He first gained international experience as chief of operations and missions section in the German Military Representation to NATO/EU, and operational experience in Kosovo where he served as military assistant to the Commander KFOR and as CJ 35 SO Plans for the International Security Assistance Force Headquarters in Kabul. In 2010, he served as deputy senior military assistant to the Federal Minister of Defence in Berlin, before being appointed chief of branch of military personnel development in FMoD Bonn. Other appointments include, inter alia, Commander of Armoured Brigade 12, and Chief of NATO Policy at the Directorate General for Security and Defence Policy in FMoD Berlin. He holds a master’s degree in political sciences from Hamburg University, and has completed a General Staff Officer Course in Hamburg as well as an advanced Command and Staff Course in the UK.
