Director of Strategic Affairs, Disarmament, and Non-Proliferation at the Foreign Affairs Ministry of France
Guillaume Ollagnier has served as the Director of Strategic Affairs at the French Foreign Affairs (FA) Ministry since 2023. After successive administrative positions in the Human Resources Directorate (2000-06), the General Administration Directorate (2006-08), and then the General Secretariat of the FA Ministry, he was appointed FA Advisor in 2011. He continued in the position of political advisor at the Permanent Representation of France to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels until 2012 and afterwards joined the Prime Minister’s Office as Strategic affairs advisor (2012-14). From 2014 to 2016, he was an advisor in charge of strategic affairs, Russia, and the CIS to the Minister of FA. In 2016, he accepted the position of Deputy Director of the Minister of FA and International Development Office. In 2017, he moved to Berlin as Minister Counselor at the French Embassy, where he served until 2021. On his return to France, he was seconded to the Ministry of the Armed Forces as Head of the Europe, North America, and Multilateral Action Department.
