Daniel Szeligowski

Head of the Eastern Europe Programme at the Polish Institute of International Affairs

Dr Daniel Szeligowski is the Head of the Eastern Europe Programme and chief analyst on Ukraine at the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM). His research interests focus on Ukraine’s political and economic situation, foreign and security policy, prospects for post-war reconstruction, Ukraine’s relations with the European Union and NATO. Dr Szeligowski has written and spoken extensively on Ukrainian affairs. Since the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, he has been a member of high-level working groups in Warsaw and Brussels studying future scenarios for Ukraine and Russia. In 2024, he was named one of the 50 Future Think-Tank Leaders worldwide by the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI). Dr Szeligowski is an economist and political scientist. He holds a PhD in political science and public administration from the Warsaw School of Economics.
